We like to understand the situation before deciding what the assignment is.
Sometimes the need is a complex decision that touches a business, an estate, taxes, and family members. Sometimes it's simply having investments managed well and a financial life kept organized. Both deserve careful attention.
Our work often involves other professionals. Attorneys, CPAs, and specialists retain their own roles. FWS helps connect the questions, work through the choices, and see that decisions are carried into the client's actual financial life.
The people
The people you will work with.
Founder · President
Joe Michalski
Joe founded FWS and is drawn to situations where the answer is not obvious.
Joe's work centers on helping families and business owners make decisions when financial, business, tax, estate, and family considerations begin to overlap. He also teaches finance and business as an adjunct professor at the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado.
Joe is the father of two daughters, one at Holy Family High School and one at Gonzaga University. He and his family are active in the local Catholic community.
Nick Barsody
Nick works directly with clients on the ongoing decisions and details of their financial lives.
His work includes managing client needs, coordinating implementation, handling account and service matters, and making sure decisions actually get carried through. He works closely with clients and frequently handles matters with them directly.
That continuity is important to how FWS operates. Clients have two people who know their situation, understand what has already been decided, and can keep things moving without requiring every question or request to pass through one person.
